We spent last night watching a 50-year-old man do what he loved…sing for a crowd.
He was AMAZING!
Kenny Chesney and I have lived “post-graduation life” together.
30 years of traveling around the sun together.
It was amazing that with every song, I could remember exactly where I was and what I was doing at the time; a house we lived in, a baby I was holding, a trip to the lake, a day with a friend, and on and on.
So the rest of this post will be life advice from Mr. Chesney himself.
Sit back, relax and enjoy the show.
I’ve been living in fast forward
Now I need to rewind real slow
So I go back to a pew, preacher and a choir
Singin’ ’bout God, brimstone, and fire
And the smell of Sunday chicken after church
To a time where
We find out when you die the keys to heaven can’t be bought
We still don’t know what love is but we sure know what it’s not
So we should
Paint a wall, learn to dance
Call your mom, buy a boat
Drink a beer, sing a song
Make a friend, can’t we all get along
because
Reality, yeah, sometimes life
Ain’t all that it’s cracked up to be
But we have
One life, one chance
One ticket to the big dance
You and me still holding on
Right down to the last song
Cause the sun’s too bright, the sky’s too blue
and
When the sun goes down, we’ll be groovin’
When the sun goes down, we’ll be feelin’ alright
That’s somethin’, baby that’s somethin’
Oh that’s somethin’
That just don’t happen twice
I know
We were brave, we were crazy, we were mostly young
And I also know
Everything’s gonna be alright
Everything’s gonna be alright
And nobody’s gotta worry ’bout nothing
Don’t go hittin’ that panic button
It ain’t worth spilling your drink
Everything’s gonna be alright
Alright, alright
True we are all
A little messed up, but we’re all alright
But
She said if you work hard to get where you are it feels good in the hot spotlight of life
So
Take a deep breathe and let it all in, shut up and kiss me because as long as I am somewhere with you, who cares.
Go be AMAZING this week!!
