Home

For years, I’ve read other people’s blogs.  They’ve made me laugh, cry and honestly, think that I could do anything I got a wild hair to do.  I’ve learned how to make lasagna, built a desk, painted a dresser and decorate our home.

And then a dear friend said, “Allyson, you should write a blog.  You should share your story.  You should make the rest of us laugh and cry and sigh because everything is going to be okay.  You could be making a bigger impact by sharing your love of life.”

After I got up off the floor from laughing, I thought, “Really? Would anyone care what I had to say, or how I make banana pudding or if I put my pants on backwards today? I then wondered if my own mother would even want to read what I wrote.  But, hey,  I’m not one to back down from a challenge so…

a new adventure began.

Here you will find stories of my past, future, and present.  Some will make you cry, others will make you wonder, and many of them will hopefully make you smile.

I will share some of my favorite family recipes, cheap and easy decorating tips and a few projects that Coach and I enjoy doing during the offseason.

I will also be sharing stories from our daily life.  You see, we are a family of teachers. My day is filled loving and learning with 5th and 6th graders and my man teaches high school boys a little bit about life through baseball.  We spend most of our time taking care of everyone else’s children but the two we love the most, call us Mommy and Daddy.

So when baseball season is over, we dust the dirt off of our shoes, fall back in love and spend most of our time together cooking, painting, building, laughing, loving and having fun together as a family.

So In the Off Season was born.

Let’s get started…it’s going to be amazing!!

  1. Allyson, I was so thrilled when I learned you were a blogger, too. I am impressed with your topics, writing, and humor…of course your humor is your greatest gift. Keep blogging, sister.
    Peace & blessings,
